Risk warning: Trading carries a high risk of losing money, especially with leveraged products such as CFDs. A bonus does not reduce that risk. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.

Checking availability…The catch
The C$100 is paid as cash into your GoSmart account and the terms set no minimum holding period after payment. Because GoSmart accounts are registered plans (TFSA, FHSA or RRSP), taking the money out follows that plan's withdrawal and tax rules, and the C$2,000 contribution counts against your contribution room.
How to claim
- Set up RBC banking and the RBC Mobile app if you are not already an RBC client.
- Open your first GoSmart account between August 4 and November 2, 2026 by scanning the offer QR code or following RBC's promotional link.
- Contribute at least C$2,000 to the new GoSmart account by February 2, 2027, checking your contribution room first.
- Receive C$100 cash in the GoSmart account within 7 days of meeting the conditions.
Full review
GoSmart is RBC Direct Investing's app-based account for newer investors. It runs inside the RBC Mobile app, has no account maintenance fees, and includes commission-free trades on select ETFs plus 50 free stock and ETF trades a year (C$9.95 per trade after that). Open your first GoSmart account between August 4 and November 2, 2026 by scanning the offer QR code or following RBC's promotional link, contribute at least C$2,000 by February 2, 2027, and RBC pays C$100 cash into the GoSmart account within 7 days of meeting those conditions. You must be a Canadian resident of the age of majority in your province or territory. On a C$2,000 deposit the reward works out to 5%.
The catch is access. RBC's GoSmart page says the account is currently only for RBC clients using the RBC Mobile app, so you need an RBC bank account first. RBC lists GoSmart accounts as TFSA, FHSA and RRSP, so the C$2,000 contribution uses registered contribution room, and the terms make any excess contribution penalty or other tax consequence your responsibility. The terms state no minimum holding period after the C$100 is paid. RBC can change or withdraw the offer without notice. The C$100 can be combined with RBC's separate 3% cash back offer on full-suite Direct Investing accounts, but a GoSmart account itself does not count toward that offer.
Pros
- +C$100 on a C$2,000 deposit is a 5% return on the minimum
- +Paid as cash within 7 days of qualifying, not years later
- +No minimum holding period stated in the terms
- +Can be combined with RBC's 3% cash back offer on a full-suite account
Cons
- −You need to be an RBC banking client using the RBC Mobile app
- −Only for your first GoSmart account
- −The contribution uses TFSA, FHSA or RRSP room, and over-contribution penalties are yours
- −Canadian residents only
